Fitting in-Poetry for the Poor

They say “nothing comes easy” when they don’t know
They say “life is grand” when they are high
They say “life’s a bitch, then you die”
They say “gold is grand, so buy, buy, buy”
At times are rich but “nothing lasts”
When you are sick, “try a fast”
When you are thin “health is in”
When you are fat, “how dare you sin?”

What the world is taught is thought for flies
Rotting out and meant to die
One day maybe, you can “fly as high”
Be rich like them, then ascend

But what we know as they all know
Is thought was once never known
We weren’t always “status quo”
We weren’t always “what we’ve known”
