What Age Is What We Want?- Poetry for the Young

The thoughts
You think
At thirty-three
Are forty winks
For fifty-three

From fifty on
You’re far too gone
To belong
On our front lawn

Forty times the
Old is gone
When you are
Too young
To wrong

Wonder what
We will see
When we are
A hundred three

The youth it’s wrong
When we belong
To cliques
And on
The tv screen

What we are
All thinking
Is what good
Is honor from?
