Blogging Is A Challenge I am Up To

I have been going back and forth with whether or not to blog anymore at all; whether to work in one style or the other; and whether to start all over on another blog.

With my time off, I feel invigorated in a lot of ways. I feel good knowing there is more to life than a computer connection and the need to constantly put content out there. It seems odd to say that since I have been working on putting products on my “zazzle” shop.  Zazzle is full of content, but I found that I was more able to work on the art for that while away from the responsibility of blogging and while spending time in the garden. Having help from my sister also freed up a lot of time I would have been spending  creating products and blogging and not enjoying the work.

Something keeps drawing me back here and every excuse I have leads me back to this site. I have put a lot of effort into it over the years and I like that. It is something that I have created with all sorts of layers of thoughts, ideas, art, and content. I like what I made here and I like all the time I have spent here, though at times, I was a little off kilter. At times, I was a bit embarrassing to myself and a bit over share-y. I tend to  change directions too many times and say one thing and do another, but that makes me human. And a human with an emotional illness.

Blogging is a whole world unto itself and I feel beholden to it in a lot of ways. Beholden to the idea of making a regular commitment that I don’t get a lot back from. Not to say that any of you are responsible to make me feel better about my life, but all in all, I have been at this a long time and the rewards are fallen somewhere off at the train station two countries away.

Not that the trek is not worth it, but it is a lot of work and energy to get to wherever it is that I am going.

I will take the rest of the week off and hopefully get back to a regular (what’s regular?) schedule in the following week. I just wanted to update any of you who were any bit interested in what I do here and whether I was still alive.

  1. I definitely here what you’re saying about blogging, staying connected, and staying connected to life away from the computer! It’s not easy balancing all of the things we do as creative, emotion-filled people. Like you, I found myself in dire need of taking a break. I took it sort of without knowing I was taking it if you get what I mean? After a week of no posts, I did feel better about returning, about posting again, about reworking my stores(I have a few of them!), but taking time off is a vital, necessary thing we all can benefit from.
Ultimately, I find I enjoy the ‘family’ I’ve built here in the WP. I enjoy the interaction, the comments, and being able to comment and learn so much about people and places I may never physically experience. Still, it seems to me there’s a BIG lesson to learn when it comes to social media… it can never represent ALL of who we are. I like that truth and will continue to stop occasionally to remind myself of it.

Best of the best to you.
    Keep doing what you do.
    You are important.
You never know who you’re inspiring in the simplest ways…

    1. Thank you K’lee.. I love your comment. Really makes me feel better. Social media can be a bit addicting and it is always good to moderate when things get that way. I hope you are having a great day and week. 🙂 Thanks for a great comment. 🙂

      1. Thank you for getting me thinking about the topic in the first place! I think we all pass through this ‘tunnel’ at some point and switching gears can be a big help.

Thanks for wishing me a great week, my friend. Here’s to us both making this week count!
