Here are some warmup sketches that I have been doing for the start of “inktober” – the 31 day challenge to make an ink drawing a day for every day in October. These are not the best yet, but they are a start and something fun to do from time to time. I like to come up with new ideas for characters one right after the next. I will make a head shape randomly and fill it in with features. This was something I learned to do as a kid while practicing from Bruce Blitz’s tv show and products. (I was always interested in art, even as a small kid).
I will post some more of these in the coming days, as well as some figure drawing ink sketches and graphic novel work. Nude figure drawings will be posting soon, but they are very mild and nothing to get upset about. It is one of those things in art that while drawing people, an artist cannot get an accurate idea about anatomy or draw realistic people without knowing how muscles and bones and body parts move and interact. This however you take it, is a time honored tradition going back to the very beginnings of art making. Some of the oldest art is of nudes.
Anyhow, enjoy these faces for now and maybe have a little laugh about them. I like putting some character and fun in these faces.
Disclaimer- I was not asked or paid by anyone to write this post. I am just a fan of Bruce Blitz
